I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly

I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly

We really outdid ourselves this time, The Face Jelly is more than your average gel-moisturiser. Oftentimes, gel moisturisers just seem to dissipate once they’ve been applied, leaving skin feeling only slightly more hydrated, if anything at all. This is not the case when it comes to The Face Jelly

This gel-moisturiser leaves your skin feeling juicy and dewy in a way that needs to be felt to be understood. The water-based formula glides on smoothly, making your skin feel almost wet and after absorbing it leaves a healthy, hydrated glow that lasts all day long.

Dry vs dehydrated: what’s the difference?

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of this transformative formula, let's discuss hydration vs moisture. Many get these two confused, so let us break it down:

If your skin is lacking in moisture, it needs oil. If your skin is lacking in hydration, it needs water. Skin lacking in hydration can express itself in different ways, which is why so many get confused. Your skin can both be oily and/or acne prone, while also being dehydrated and surface dry. Skin gets dehydrated for several different reasons, from diet to the weather to using too many, or too strong active products, like acids or retinol.

Here are some signs that your skin is dehydrated or surface-dry:

  1. Your skin feels tight or itchy
  2. You have red, sensitive areas
  3. Fine lines become more pronounced
  4. Dark circles under your eyes are more prominent

The Face Jelly vs The Barrier Cream vs The Rich Cream

The Face Jelly is water-based (providing hydration) in contrast to our other two moisturisers, The Barrier Cream and The Rich Cream, which are oil-based and provide moisture. Some skin types need both, others prefer one or the other, sometimes depending on the season.

The Face Jelly is great for all skin types as all skin types can experience surface-dryness, but it is especially appreciated by oily, acne-prone skin types, surface-dry skin or skin craving something a little lighter yet ultra-hydrating during the hot summer months.

Can you handle this (inci)?

The list of ingredients, aka the inci, is jam-packed with a variety of incredibly nourishing and hydrating ingredients.

Hyaluronic acid is a well-known hydrating hero that helps bind water in the skin.  Antioxidant-rich centella soothes, moisturises and supports a healthy skin barrier.

Peptides are amino acids that penetrate the skin barrier, providing moisture and helping your body's natural collagen production, resulting in fine lines looking plumped. Chlorophyll, which provides the jelly’s green colour, is rich in antioxidants and vitamins C, A and E, which brightens and tightens the skin’s appearance. Together, they create a cocktail much like a green juice, that provides skin-benefitting nutrients, hydration and an unbeatable healthy glow.
